Many times throughout my life I have been asked by strangers if I am from either Minnesota or Wisconsin because of my accent. The lady at the spa in California thought I was from the South. Yesterday at Target the checkout girl asked if I was from England. Really?? Do I really sound that strange? I guess it must just be a "Utah" accent which is just a combination of hick and California. I would blame it on being from Payson but I don't use the word "ain't" often enough.

that is hilarious!!! I have never noticed that you talk funny,,,maybe you do it for fun when you're out shopping???
I think people might mistake dad being from england--his accent is spot on afterall.
LOL. Thanks, I needed that laugh! Richele's accent is pretty spot on as well! They'd fit right in in Jolly Ol' England!
I remember hearing my dad's mission farewell and being floored by just how different his accent was then.
Personally, I think people just don't know what to make of a hick accent spoken with proper grammar so they just start guessing locations. ;)
That is pretty funny!
Honestly...what the crap! Do you know how many times I get asked if I'm from Minnesota or the south? I can't count. What's up...it's not like I say things like,
don't-cha no or talk funny. It's crazy...maybe we are truly "connected at the hip" (remember Mr. Hadley?)
