A comment on commenting.

Let me just say....all of you who have turned on the "word verification" on your commenting section drive me nuts!!! I hate trying to decipher what the bloody letters are and then typing them in when I am just trying to leave a quick comment. Why is it turned on? Why? I don't understand the point of it. At all. If someone wants to explain it to me I'd be happy to listen. But really, it's just annoying. That's all. I just needed to get that off my chest. And for those of you who don't have it turned on.....bless you!

I'm glad I've made it easier for you to comment on mine. I love reading your comments. =)

Kristi, I am such a non-blogger, not-computer-skilled person. How do you turn off those darn things? Do I have them on my blog--probably...I don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time!

Kristi, I'm with you. That word verification is annoying. I notice mine has it, too. How do you get rid of it?

Kristi,

I apologize that I still have word verification but I feel that I need at least that much protection from the idiots on the web.

I am definitely for encouraging open communication which is why I didn't have word verification for several months after I started my blog. Then some idiot started spamming my blog with dozens of identical comments, none of which were relevant and all of which were obnoxious advertising for one of his sites. He had some automated commenting program that would post comments faster than I could delete them. In fact I shut down commenting completely for a few days then opened commenting with moderation, then without moderation but with word verification.

That's the best I feel I can do at this time.

I'll forgive you because you're family, Arnold!! I didn't know anyone I knew was popular enough to get spammed in their comments!
